VIOLENCE PREVENTION

California PAL is committed to stopping violence and abuse before it begins through advocacy and education geared toward protecting children.  We engage experts to work with PAL locations to help ensure the safety and well-being of the youth in their care and protect those young people from the potential threat of abuse.  We align with public and private organizations to provide information to the PAL community and training of PAL members, including staff and officers.

Shield of Protection®

The Shield of Protection® is an innovative and comprehensive program designed by the Beau Biden Foundation’s experts in law, education, and law enforcement to help ensure schools and youth-serving organizations have the best policies, procedures, and programming in place to help protect youth from all forms of child abuse and neglect.  California PAL has collaborated with the Beau Biden Foundation to bring its Shield of Protection workshops to our PAL member chapters.

SHIELD OF PROTECTION WORKSHOPS

California PAL hosts Shield of Protection workshops to provide officers, volunteers, and staff with the best possible tools for creating safe, healthy, and nurturing environments in which youth can play, learn, and grow.  The training focuses on interactive learning experiences using visual presentations and scenario-based discussions around early intervention and policy considerations that can reduce or prevent the victimization of youth.  Workshops are available in person and/or virtually.
